Famous Tamil film producer SS Chakravarthy breathed his last today. He was suffering from cancer for 8 months and lost his life at midnight. Today evening in Chennai, his body will be cremated and the funeral ceremony will be a closed one with friends and family.

Chakravarthy is known for bankrolling hit films under the banner Nic Arts. Ten out of the 14 films he produced star Ajith Kumar in the lead role. He was a dear friend of Ajith Kumar and hence they worked together often in the early 2000s.

SS Chakravarthy debuted as an actor in the 2015 film, 'Thoppi'. He was last seen in Vemal starrer ZEE5 web series 'Vilangu'. It is worth mentioning that he played a police officer in both. The film fraternity and fans are expressing their condolences now.
