Family Star’s decent collections in the first weekend

“Family Star,” featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, had been eagerly awaited by fans but unfortunately fell short of expectations upon its release. Despite Vijay Deverakonda’s charismatic presence, the film struggled due to a weak storyline and lackluster screenplay, leaving audiences disappointed. Some viewers also noted a need for Vijay Deverakonda to diversify his accent and diction, as it had become predictable and uninspiring. Nevertheless, the pairing of Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda was a refreshing aspect, as highlighted in reviews.

During its opening weekend, “Family Star” grossed $759,117, but its performance dipped significantly thereafter. With a mere eleven crore share from its first weekend worldwide, the film’s lackluster box office performance reflected the audience’s disinterest and rejection.

Producer Dil Raju has attempted to salvage the film’s reputation by attributing its failure to negative reviews. However, viewers who watched the film expressed dissatisfaction with Parasuram’s direction, finding it subpar and lacking entertainment value. Alongside Vijay Deverakonda, the movie features Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, Vennela Kishore, Jagapathi Babu, Achyuth Kumar, Ravi Babu, Ajay Ghosh, and Divyansha in pivotal roles.

The film carried immense expectations, particularly due to the success of Vijay Devarakonda and Parasuram’s previous collaboration, “Geetha Govindam.” Speculation arose regarding Rashmika Mandanna’s involvement in a special role, but fans were disappointed when she did not appear in the film. Reports surfaced that scenes featuring Rashmika had been edited out, leaving viewers puzzled. Despite leaked footage showing Rashmika on set and filming for the song “Kalyani Vachhe Vachhe,” her cameo was conspicuously absent from the final cut. This raised questions about whether the makers intended to reintegrate her cameo or if it had been permanently removed from the song.

Family Star result dented the reputation of Rowdy Star Vijay Devarakonda and will surely bring down his market considerably. It has to be seen how he will chose his next projects.
