Pawan Kalyan has demanded that SSC students who have failed to clear the exam must be passed by according them a ‘grace’ of 10 marks. The Jana Sena Party chief also demanded that the YCP government should direct the SSC board not to charge any fee from those appearing for the upcoming Supplementary exam.
In a statement issued today, the actor-politician also demanded that re-counting should be done for free.
“How can the government follow a hands-off approach by saying that the blame for 2 lakh students failing in the exam must be laid at the doorsteps of their parents? The pass percentage in 2018 and 2019 was nearly 95% for both years. In comparison, it is just 67% this year,” Pawan Kalyan said.
Pawan also raised the issue of the optimum spending of funds allocated under the Naadu-Nedu scheme, which, as per the government, has seen an outlay of Rs 16,000 Cr so far. “Before splurging money on schemes, a proper strategy must be carved out. The capacity has to be built up in the education sector,” he added.
