A fresh controversy has erupted around actor–politician Pawan Kalyan after former IAS officer Vijay Kumar approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court with serious allegations. In his petition, Vijay Kumar claimed that government funds were misused to promote Pawan Kalyan’s recent film Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM).
According to the petition, Pawan Kalyan, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, allegedly diverted state resources for the film’s benefit, in which he played the lead role. The petitioner urged the court to order a CBI investigation into the matter.
After hearing the case, the High Court directed that both the CBI and ACB be included in the proceedings. The matter has now been adjourned for a week.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Jothi Krishna and presented by AM Ratnam, released on July 24, 2025. Despite high expectations, the film — featuring Pawan Kalyan as an outlaw named Veera Mallu — failed at the box office. Following the losses, distributors are reportedly demanding GST reimbursement from the producers.
With this, Pawan Kalyan finds himself battling on two fronts — a commercial setback in cinema and a legal storm in politics.
