Today directors are coming up with mega films like ‘Baahubali’ but as long as eighteen years ago Ulagayanagan Kamal Haasan dreamt of ‘Maruthanayagam’ a 100 crore project (value could be three times today). The trailer of the film proves that he is more than a match for modern filmmakers, but unfortunately the project directed by Kamal himself could not take off due to the gigantic budget.
Now comes the good news that the ‘Enthiran 2’ producers Lyca Entertainment and Ayngaran International are going to bankroll ‘Maruthanayagam’ and the shooting is likely to begin in mid 2016.
