Veteran film Editor G.Jayachandran DFT passed away today morning due to cardiac arrest. He was the son of famed editor V.Govindasamy and followed hin his footsteps. He is survived by his wife and two cons.
G.Jayachandran has edited more than 150 films so far after making his debut in the pathbreaking film ‘Oomai Vizhigal’ directed by Aabavanan that starred Jaishankar, Ravichandran, Vijayakanth, Karthik, Visu, Chandrasekhar and Arun Pandian in lead roles.
Director R.V. Udayakumar the secretary of the Tamil Film Directors Union in his condolence message has stated G. Jayachandran was his classmate in film institute and a close friend who worked with him in his debut movie ‘Urimai Geetham’. He also showed praises that the editor’s contribution is immense in all the films of the film institute alumni directors including Aabavanan, Arvindraj, R.K. Selvamani and others.
