As we had reported earlier the critically acclaimed Malayalam super hit 'Charlie' starring Dulquer Salman and Parvathy in lead roles will be remade in Tamil. The remake rights have been purchased by Prateek Chakravorty of Pramod Films banner who will produce the Tamil version along with Shruthi Nallappa.
While the director, hero, heroine and the cast and crew members are yet to be finalized there has been speculations on who will replace the male lead played by Dulquer in the original. Two A list young heroes of Kollywood were rumored to be part of the project but they ended up as mere rumors.
Now we learn from a reliable source that that Dulquer whose performance in the Malayalam original was unanimously appreciated by fans and critics is likely to be retained in the same role in the Tamil remake.
If this happens, it will be the third direct Tamil film of Dulquer after 'Vaayai Moodi Pesavum' and Mani Ratnam's 'O Kadhal Kanmani'.
We will have to wait for an official confirmation in this regard.
