Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Doctor’ release – Producer’s strong update

One of the movies that family audiences are waiting for a long time is ‘Doctor’ starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.  The song videos of ”Chellamma” and “Oh Baby” from the movie have garnered record-breaking millions of views and likes on YouTube upping the ante as well.

Initially, the release date of ‘Doctor’ was set for March 26th, but due to the COVID 19 situation then, it had to be postponed to May 12th, which is today.  But the second wave of the virus infection is running rampage all over the country and theaters have been shut and there is no indication as to when they will be reopened.

Sivakarthikeyan fans have been hounding the production house and all those related with ‘Doctor’ for a release update with most objecting to rumors that the film is going for an OTT release.  KJR Studios the producers of the film have released a strongly worded statement regarding the same.

The statement reads “You have been asking us for updates about #Doctor every day. As a Producer, I’m bearing all the financial & material constraints caused by COVID-19 with a fully ready film in hand. I’m doing everything within my power to get the film the right release! Losing near and dear ones to the second wave on another hand….  At a time like this, where nothing is certain, I do not want to talk about something celebratory like #Doctor release. Please understand & oblige. Stay home, take care of your family, respect the regulations. We as a country need to recover to rejoice a release”.

‘Doctor’ has music by Anirudh and is co-produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions.  The cast comprises of Sivakarthikeyan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Yogi Babu, Saranya Ponvannan, Ilavarasu, and VJ Archana.
