Disha incident makes AVPL line more relevant: Trivikram

Trivikram Srinivas awaits the release of 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' on January 12. Talking to a TV channel, he has spoken of one of his favourite lines from the movie. In the film's trailer, Allu Arjun's character says this: "Dennaina puttinche shakti iddarike undi sir..Okati nelaki, rendu vallaki (referring to women). Alantollatho manaki godaventi sir..Surrender aipovali."

Trivikram has opined that the line has acquired more relevance at a time when atrocities on women have become rampant. "The Disha episode has stunned me. I was too shocked for 3-4 days and was disturbed on reading about the rape in Hyderabad. Many people have loved the line in the trailer because of the times we are living in. This scene was shot much before the Disha incident. The line is organic to the situation. Allu Arjun too loves the moment in the film," Trivikram says.

He adds, "Since I have been brought up by women in my family, I can never think of showing anything objectionable towards women in my movies. Respecting women has to come naturally to men. Why should it be taught by anyone? I hope our society becomes mature enough to understand these basics."
