“Yogi Babu said that we should start our next film soon after watching Yaanai Mugathaan,” Director opens up!

Yogi Babu is a prominent comedian in Tamil cinema. He is a busy and most-wanted actor not only in Kollywood but also in the other film industries too. He teamed up with Malayalam director Rejishh Midhila for the upcoming film ‘Yaanai Mugathaan’, which also stars Ram Thilak in the lead role.

Rejishh Midhila is a critically acclaimed director who made the movies – ‘Lal Bahadur & Shastri’, ‘Varikkuzhiyile Kolapathakam’ and ‘Innumuthal’. He is ready to set foot in the Kollywood arena with Yaanai Mugathaan, a fantasy drama that is slated to hit the screens in 2023. The movie is shot in many locales in Chennai and Rajasthan.

In a recent interview, the director opened up about the film, “I like Tamil films very much. I got introduced to Ramesh Thilak through my Malayalam film. After hearing a story I had, Ramesh said that Yogi Babu would be perfect for this and he introduced Yogi Babu. That is the ‘Yaanai Mugathaan’. In this fantasy film, Ramesh Tilak plays an auto driver and an ardent devotee of Ganesha. Wherever he sees Ganapati, he does not go without raising his hand and putting money in the hundi. But he is also a little fraud.

Then, Yogi Babu introduces himself to Ramesh Tilak by saying that he is Ganesha. When we pray to a God, we do not expect him to come in person when we plead with him to solve our problems. If he comes like that, he will have to fight to prove that he is God. The movie is all about the strange events that happen when Yogi Babu comes into Ramesh Tilak’s life. So this film is about the turning point in their life.

Yogi Babu readily accepted and gave the dates immediately after listening to the story. He himself called Karunakaran and Urvasi and asked them to act in this film. Due to this, half of the casting work for the main characters is saved. When Yogi Babu gets into a character, he gets a unique style. There is no uncertainty in him. As Yogi Babu comes from the bottom of life, he brings emotions easily.

He is the hero in the next film as well. There is a desire to make good use of Yogi Babu. It was a violent adventure film. The entire film takes place in Cherrapunji, Meghalaya.
