Veteran Tollywood filmmaker Sarath is no more. On Friday, the director of hits made in the 1980s and 1990s succumbed to cancer.
As per media reports, his last rites will be performed on Saturday at Maha Prasthanam in Hyderabad.
In a statement, ‘Akhanda’ star and actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna condoled the demise of Sarath. He recalled his association with the veteran, adding that they worked together on films like ‘Peddannayya’, ‘Vamsanikokkadu’, ‘Sulthan’ and ‘Vamsoddarakudu’. “His passing away has saddened me. I have lost a good friend, a selfless person. I pray that his soul rests in peace,” Balayya said in a statement. ‘Bandhuvulosthunnaru Jagratha’, ‘Peddintalludu’, ‘Collector G’aari Alludu’, ‘Bava Bavamaridhi’, ‘Dongalludu’, Chinnalludu’, ‘Abbayi Gari Pelli’ are his other well-known titles.
