Mohan G Brings Vallal Maharaja Legend to Life in Draupathi 2

Director Mohan G, known for films like “Pazhaya Vannarapettai,” “Draupathi,” “Rudra Thandavam,” and “Pagaasooran,” is set to direct the sequel to “Draupathi.” Actor Richard Rishi will play the lead role, and the music will be composed by Ghibran.

Speaking about the project, Mohan G stated, “The story is set against the backdrop of the forgotten Pochalai Empire from the 14th century. Among the rulers of the Thiruvannamalai region, the most renowned was King Veera Vallala Maharaja, who built the Rajagopuram of the Thiruvannamalai temple.

It is believed that Lord Shiva was born as his son. Even today, during the Maasi Magam festival, a ritual is performed at the Thiruvannamalai temple, where Lord Shiva is said to offer prayers for the late King Vallala Maharaja.
