Suriya called Kamal Haasan and sought permission

Director Bramma has completed his second film 'Magalir Mattum' which stars Jyothika in the lead role. The film will be a celebration of ladies as it boasts off the presence of many prominent yesteryear heroines such as Urvash, Bhanupriya and Saranya.

The director felt that the most suitable title for the film will be 'Magalir Mattum'. It was the film's produced and Jo's husband Suriya who immediately spoke with Kamal Haasan who produced a women oriented comedy film under the same title in 1994 and obtained the rights to use the title. 

it is an interesting trivia that Urvashi and Nasser who played vital roles in 'Magalir Mattum' (1994) have played important roles in this film too. 

The team has underwent acting workshop for a month before commencing  the shoot. Bramma says such workshops are not for training the artists to act but it is to enable them absorb the depth of the character.

Talking about producer Suriya, Bramma says he would visit the the shooting spot on and often and ask him to select any good actor and he as a producer would ensure to bring them on board.

Speaking about Jyothika's character in the film, Bramma said. she plays a documentary filmmaker. In this film we will get to see the Jo we all love to see on screen as well as a different dimension of the actress in her. As visible in the posters she rides a bullet in the film and she will be riding another vehicle which has been retained as a surprise factor. 

The director also revealed that Jyothika has dubbed on her lines in Tamil in this film after her 2005 film 'Maayavi'.

'Magalir Mattum' has been produced by Suriya under his 2D Entertainments banner. Ghibran has rendered the music score and cinematography is by S.Manikandan.
