Veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s ancestral house, which was already in a dilapidated state, has collapsed; only the front and gate of the century-old house are intact. A replica will be built shortly say authorities.
The house, situated near the historic Qissa Khawani bazaar, was declared a national heritage site in 2014. Preservation efforts by the archeology department were halted as the house was under litigation. The new KP Antiquities Act 2016 will allow reconstruction efforts to continue seamlessly at the site, much to the relief of the veteran actor’s fans.
