There have been some unsavoury rumours that SP Balasubrahmanyam's family didn't clear the hospital bills and, therefore, MGM Healthcare in Chennai refused to part with the legendary singer's body after he passed away last Friday. Rumour-mongers have had it that Venkaiah Naidu, the hon'ble Vice-President, had to enter the scene to solve the issue.
The news is that SP Charan has taken to social media to dismiss the rumours. "It's not at all true that I had approached the Tamil Nadu government for help. It's not at all true that I later reached out to the Vice-President because the TN govt. didn't respond. The rumours about the hospital are completely untrue. They are nonsensical, hurting and offensive," Charan said.
Charan lamented that people who don't know anything about the treatment and its costs are spreading fake news. Sounding upset, the son of the late singer said that the person who invented the rumour needs to grow up.
SPB's family as well as the private hospital are planning to release a detailed statement to put the record straight.
