Dhanush's Manager Refutes Casting-Couch Allegation

Tamil actor Dhanush was briefly drawn into an online controversy after reports surfaced that TV actress Manya Anand had received a suspicious phone call from someone impersonating his manager and offering her a role in an upcoming film. The caller allegedly hinted at inappropriate “adjustments,” sparking widespread criticism before the facts were clarified.

The remarks quickly sparked outrage online, with many targeting both the actor and his long-time manager.

However, the situation took a turn when Manya Anand released a clarification video on her social media platforms, stating she never accused Dhanush’s real team. “A person—whose identity I’m not sure of—called me regarding a supposed Dhanush movie. I clearly said I didn’t know if the call was genuine,” she clarified, adding that her words were misinterpreted and amplified on social media.

In response, Dhanush’s manager Sreyas issued a fresh press statement, reiterating that neither he nor Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd conducts casting calls of any kind.

“As I stated earlier on 31 January 2024 and again on 19 February 2025 on my official social media pages, I want to reiterate that any casting calls, messages, or offers made under my name or under Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd are completely fake and baseless,” the statement read.

With both parties clarifying their positions, the controversy has largely settled. Industry insiders note that incidents involving impostors posing as representatives of actors, directors, or production houses to exploit aspiring artistes have become increasingly common. Dhanush’s team appears to be the latest target of such fraudulent activity.
