‘Thiruchitrambalam’ becomes Dhanush’s highest grossing film!

We all know that the National Award-winning actor Dhanush returned to the big screen after several OTT releases with his recent family drama ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ directed by Mithran Jawahar. Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie was released in theatres on August 18. This film marked the reunion of the Dhanush & Anirudh combo after 7 years. 

The hot news is that Dhanush starrer Thiruchitrambalam has grossed Rs 100 crores at the worldwide box office collections in 13 days. It is being reported that it has collected around Rs 110 crores in 15 days and is still dominating the new releases. The movie started well at the box office and collected Rs 10 crore on its opening day. 

Thiruchitrambalam has surpassed the lifetime earnings of ‘Karnan’ and ‘Asuran’ to emerge as the actor’s biggest grosser in Tamil Nadu. The movie starred Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Prakash Raj and Bharathiraja in lead roles with Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar in supporting roles. It follows a delivery driver living with his strict policeman father and sassy grandfather, who falls in love with different women in his life.

On the work front, Dhanush has ‘Naane Varuven’ with director Selvaraghavan and ‘Vaathi’ with director Venky Atluri slated for release. He is expected to start shooting for director Arun Matheshwaran’s ‘Captain Miller’ by September after he finishes his current commitments.
