Vishal Responds to Six-Pack Controversy Following Dhanush

Actor Vishal has recently commented that before Suriya, both Dhanush and he had already sported six-pack abs. During the ‘Retro’ event, veteran actor Sivakumar spoke about Suriya’s dedication, saying he would dance for four hours and then go for early morning workouts. He claimed that Suriya was the first Tamil actor to have a six-pack, nearly 28 years ago.

This led to a heated debate among fans on social media, with many highlighting other actors like Vikram and Vishal who also showed off their six-pack physiques in films.

In response, Vishal clarified in a recent interview that it was actually Dhanush who first appeared with six-pack abs in the climax of Vetrimaaran’s 2007 film ‘Polladhavan’. Vishal added that he too appeared with a six-pack in his 2008 film ‘Sathyam’ and later in ‘Madha Gaja Raja’. He suggested that people might have simply forgotten these earlier instances.

While Suriya gained massive attention for his look in Gautham Menon’s 2008 film ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’, Dhanush’s earlier transformation in 2007 had gone largely unnoticed at the time. This revisits the history of who really introduced the six-pack trend in Tamil cinema.
