Thalaiva, which in Tamil loosely translates to leader or boss, has been a decorated moniker that Superstar Rajinikanth has enjoyed for decades. But now, his son-in-law and actor Dhanush has come to be referred to by the same moniker by his die-hard fans.
As the ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ actor turned a year older today, several of his fans took to social media and greeted him by consciously referring to him as Thalaiva. It’s as if the father-in-law’s title has come to be appropriated for the son-in-law by his fans out of their love for him. The reference is interesting at a time when Dhanush is becoming a pan-India actor.
In Telugu, Dhanush is doing two films currently. They are yet-to-be-shot but both have been making for exciting news. The first one is helmed by Sekhar Kammula. It will be made on a prestigious scale. Rumouredly, the untitled film will have masala entertainer trappings. The other one is going to be directed by Venky Atluri. The yet-to-be-announced project will be made on a big scale and released in multiple languages.
The multi-faceted actor’s 43rd film is currently in the filming stage. Titled ‘Maaran’, it is directed by Karthik Naren of Kollywood. Malavika Mohanan is the leading lady of the film. The music is taken care of by GV Prakash Kumar. The ‘Raghuvaran B.Tech’ star is also doing international films and is now sharing screen space with Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling under the creators of Avengers.
