Dhanush kickstarts his next major cinematic outing with the launch of D54, a grand new project directed by Vignesh Raja, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed Por Thozhil. The film began production today with an auspicious pooja ceremony, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated journey in Indian cinema.
Reuniting with noted writer Alfred Prakash, Vignesh Raja is set to deliver a gripping narrative that blends suspense, emotion, and scale. The duo’s successful collaboration on Por Thozhil has already raised expectations for this upcoming venture.
Mamitha Baiju plays the female lead opposite Dhanush for the first time. The ensemble cast also includes acclaimed actors such as KS Ravikumar, Jayaram, Karunas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Prithvi Pandiarajan, adding strength and depth to the film’s character lineup.
Backing this ambitious project is Vels Film International Ltd, helmed by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, a banner known for delivering high-quality, content-driven cinema across India.
The film brings together a top-tier technical team to enhance its cinematic vision. GV Prakash Kumar, a National Award-winning composer, will score the music, setting the emotional and dramatic tone.
