Bollywood's superstar actress Deepika Padukone will be joining Dr Tedros, the chief of World Health Organization (WHO) to "discuss the importance of mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic". She will be going in for Instagram live on Thursday (April 23) at 7:30 PM.
Ever since the 'Chhapaak' actress made the announcement on Sunday evening, she has come in for criticism on social media. It's because Dr Tedros and WHO have been instrumental in making COVID-19 the kind of problem it is, allegedly in cahoots with the criminal Chinese regime.
IPS officer Pranav Mahajan said to Deepika to "kindly give it a thought as to how can people accept the bhakshak (destroyer) as a rakshak (saviour). Nobody would like him to answer the questions on that programme when he should answer questions regarding his conduct during #COVID19."
Writes columnist Abhijit Yer-Mitra, "How tone-deaf is this dumb Bollywoodiya? Tedros has destroyed the Indian economy, condemned us to a spell of depression, the worst affected are the poor, over 100,000 dead worldwide and Deepika will do a little whitewash of him?"
