‘NTR: Mahanayakudu’ has put up an embarrassing figure on Day 1. Released this Friday, the political thriller-cum-biopic could collect a distributor share of a mere Rs 1.50 Cr in the Telugu States. As per a reliable trade report, this is worse than what the super-duper flop ‘Parama Veera Chakra’, starring Balakrishna, had made in 2011!
In the Nizam territory, single screens threw up disastrous figures, whereas multiplexes too rejected the Krish directorial. At Hyderabad’s RTC X Roads, the movie’s three shows’ collections on Friday were less than that of Nagarjuna’s ‘Officer’.
Surprisingly, even in areas such as Guntur, Uttarandhra and Nellore, the film was a washout on the opening day, collecting less than what the recent ‘Yatra’ made.
At this rate, the second edition of the NTR biopic will be a bigger failure than even ‘NTR: Kathanayakudu’.
