‘Kousalya Krishnamurthy’ is the Telugu remake of a Tamil movie that is based on cricket. Aishwarya Rajesh plays the daughter of senior actor Rajendra Prasad. Prodded by his father, who is a distressed farmer, she goes on to play for the country in women’s cricket.
The famous cricketer Mithali Raj has graced its pre-release event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “I have watched the Teaser and it is quite true-to-life. I am sure that the film will become a huge success. The film’s producer came all the way to Bengaluru to invite me. I can understand how much committed he is to this project. This film showcases what kind of role parents can play in the success of a daughter.”
Mithali Raj added that ‘Kousalya Krishnamurthy’ tries to promote the cause of women’s cricket and empowerment through the medium of cinema. “On the other hand, the film also talks about the issues related to farmers. My mother loved it when she watched the Tamil original,” she added.
Aishwarya Rajesh, who has played the titular role, said that she is happy to be debuting in Telugu with a meaningful film like this one.
