The COVID 19 situation in Tamil Nadu is becoming grimmer by the day and following the trend of the past few days a massive 716 new patients have tested positive in the last twenty-four hours.  Chennai is maintaining its dubious record of contributing majorly to the crisis by reporting 510 in the single-day shooting up he total to 4882 cases which around sixty percent of the state.

There are now a total of 8718 coronavirus patients in TN out of whom 2134 have been discharged and 61of them have lost their lives.  Today alone 83 have recovered while 8, unfortunately, did not survive. 4 passengers who returned from other countries have tested positive for  Coronavirus today in Tamil Nadu.

11,788 samples have been tested today with the total number of 2,66,687 samples tested till date. 2,55,584 persons have been tested so far. Of the 8718 cases, 5848 are male, 2867 female, 3 transgenders and 487 children under 12 have been affected so far.
