The official coronavirus updates show that 4526 new cases have been detected in Tamil Nadu taking up the total number of infected to 147,324. The death toll is now at 2,099 after 67 new deaths reported in the past twenty-four hours.
Chennai is continuing its low trend of the past one week today too as 1,078 is the number of new cases. The rest of Tamil Nadu is however going at an alarming rate. The reason experts say is the high number of tests that are being conducted that brings the results.
Today the highest number of 4,743 persons have been discharged raising the tally of recoveries to 97,310. The high number of 41,357 tests have been done today and the total tests done so far at 16,95,365 in TN is the highest in the country.
