TN and Chennai yet again report highest COVID 19 numbers to give Sunday shock

The escalating COVID 19 situation in Tamil Nadu continues as today the third day of the total lockdown has reported the highest ever new cases number of 2532 shooting up the total to 59,377 cases.  Chennai is again in the red hot zone contributing a massive 1493 with its own total going up to 41,172.  Today is also the day that the highest number of 53 deaths have been reported rising the death toll to 757 in the state so far.

A little encouraging is the stats that 1438 patients were discharged in the past twenty-four hours taking up the tally of recoveries to 32,754.  The testing rate has been increased to a great extent with 29,963 persons tested today and till now 8,51,557 have been tested. 2934 children under the age of 12 have been affected so far and among the dead 3 reportedly had no other comorbidities.
