The official coronavirus updates for the day are in that shows 669 new cases in the last 24 hours with 509 of them from Chennai alone taking the state total tally to 7204.  135 have been discharged today with a total of 1959 cured.    3 new deaths have also been reported and the death toll now stands at 47.

A total of  2,43,037 samples have been tested to date out of which13,367 have been done today. 2,32,368 individuals have been tested till today. Out of the total number of 7204 cases in Tamil Nadu 4907 are male, 2295 female, 2 are transgenders and 364 are children under the age of 12 affected so far

The government is further easing the lockdown from May 11th with 34 more businesses allowed to function almost at regular hours including tea shops allowed to parcel.  We have to wait and see how this impacts the numbers in the coming days.
