The Coronavirus which originated in Wuhan province of China in late 2019 has now spread across the globe infecting close to two lakh people and causing the death of more than six thousand. The deadly virus has not spared even celebrities and politicians with the likes of the Canadian first lady and Hollywood legend Tom Hanks among the victims.
Movie theaters have been reported closed in many countries and India has also followed suit. Closer home the FEFSI president R. K Selvamani announced a few minutes ago that all Tamil film production will come to a halt from March 19th to 31st. The release of big films such as Vijay’s ‘Master’ and Suriya’s ‘Soorarai Pottru’ are also in doubt and could be postponed indefinitely until the coronavirus is contained throughout the globe.
