The Tamil Nadu Theatre Owner Association is planning to cancel shows in cinema halls across the State for a day, expressing support to the State government over its legal fight with Kerala on the Mullaperiyar dam issue.
According to sources in the association, a meeting has been convened later today to take a formal decision on the issue. “Most likely, there will be no shows across Tamil Nadu on December 16,” they said.
It is also said that various other crucial issues will also come under discussion at the theatre owners’ meeting today, including removing a ban on films, whose telecast rights are acquired by Sun TV.
