Today is not just the birthday of Kamal Haasan, Venkat Prabhu and Anushka Shetty, but also that of singer Karthik. This year is special to him, as his debut venture as music composer, ‘Aravaan’, is getting ready to hit the screens.
Even as his songs for the film directed by Vasanthabalan are already making their presence felt in the audio circuit, Karthik’s background score in the period flick is also much awaited.
Karthik is known for his versatility which gave him opportunity to sing a variety of songs. He developed an interest in music, early in his life (from 4 years to be precise).
He was part of a college band and regularly participated in IIT Madras Fest ‘Saarang’. Karthik’s close friend’s cousin happened to be popular singer Srinivas. During their brief chat,
Srinivas encouraged Karthik to look at singing further as a career, as he thought he had key talent. Taking cue, Karthik resumed his singing lessons.
He has composed music for a multi-lingual Coca Cola advertisement (by Rajeev Menon featuring actor Vijay), and also for other commercials.
With so many awards and accolades in his hands as a singer, the young gun is all set to blaze as a music composer too. We wish him a happy birthday and all success in his future endeavors.
