Namitha to plays a cop

Namitha has accepted to don the khaki for her forthcoming film.

The movie titled Kaval would feature Namitha playing the role of an Assistant Commissioner of Police. For the purpose, she has been zeroing in on various films on cops that were released in Tamil before. She also has exchanged notes with real-life cops. The idea is to get the basics right for the role.

Says Namitha, ‘Only after Pachchakkuthirra, I started to get offers to do varied roles. Till then I was branded as a glam doll. In Kaval I have a strong role. Rarely one gets such opportunities. I had no hesitation in accepting such a role’.

Meanwhile Namitha’s Maya, a crossover film is also nearing completion.

?I choose my roles with great care. Accepting all the offers that come my way will not serve any purpose. One should be watchful and pick roles with caution for longer life in the industry’.
