A man from Coimbatore has been arrested after he confessed to killing his wife when she failed to stop uploading her videos on TikTok despite his constant warnings and refused to pick up his calls.
The accused, identified as Kanagaraj, was married to Nandhini, with whom he has two children. Even though things were fine between the couple during the initial days of their marriage, their relationship hit the rocks a few years later. The constant eruption of fights between the duo led the woman to take comfort in social media, especially the video-sharing app TikTok, where she would regularly upload videos of herself. Kanagaraj, who was infuriated by the turn of events, decided to separate from his wife. Despite moving into a different apartment alone, the couple used to keep in touch via phone calls, where the man warned her to stop uploading her videos on TikTok almost every single time. Nandhini, however, paid no heed to him. She even stopped attending his calls a few days later.
In his confession to the police, the accused mentioned how he reached his limits when his wife failed to pick up his repeated calls for over half an hour, while she was busy talking to somebody else. Drunk and enraged, Kanagaraj reached Nandhini’s workplace and stabbed her to death. He has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC.
