PayPal and Guidance Tamil Nadu are going to sign a big Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) while Chief Minister MK Stalin is in the US. The signing will happen Friday, 3:30 am IST, in San Francisco under Pacific Daylight Time.
Under this arrangement, PayPal will make a significant investment to create an advanced technology center in Chennai with an artificial intelligence and machine learning concentration. Official sources project that this new complex will generate more than 1,000 upscale jobs.
Along with Head of International Government Relations Zi-Yang David Fan, Guidance Tamil Nadu’s Managing Director Vishnu Venugopal and PayPal’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer Senior inked the MoU in front of Chief Minister Stalin.
The Tamil community greeted CM Stalin warmly when he arrived in the US; among them were former Union Minister Napoleon, Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa, and Consul General of India in San Francisco K Srikar Reddy. Stalin thanked the reception in a post on X and underlined his goal of gathering support for the development of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin will also visit San Francisco for an investment conference targeted at obtaining large-value assets for the state. Expected to be a major highlight of the trip, the MoU with PayPal would help to establish Tamil Nadu as a center for artificial intelligence creativity.
