Chiyaan Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ Day 1: Official collection revealed; Second highest opener!

Chiyaan Vikram’s much-anticipated magnum opus, “Thangalaan”, made a powerful debut on the silver screen yesterday. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film explores a fictional narrative set against the historical backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields during British India. The producers have now released the official box office numbers for the film’s opening day.

Studio Green announced in a new poster that “Thangalaan” has grossed an impressive ?26.44 crore globally on its first day, despite not yet releasing in North India. The film is scheduled for its North India release on August 30. Sources report that “Thangalaan” had an extraordinary opening in Tamil Nadu, making it the second-highest opening in the state this year.
