Mani Ratnam's directorial 'Ponniyin Selvan' has been made on a huge scale and the film has been made in two parts. The first part of the historical drama is releasing on September 30, and the film has already created a huge buzz among movie buffs.
As the team is promoting the film all over India, the love from the nation is pouring from every corner. The team recently reached Trivandrum to promote the movie. When the 'Ponniyin Selvan' team was welcomed in Kerala style with Chenda Melam, Chiyaan Vikram too joined the celebration and started playing the Chenda (percussion instrument) along with the troupe. Keralites went crazy over the actor’s gesture and started cheering "Chiyaan Chiyaan Chiyaan...." during his speech. The video of playing the instrument like a pro is now going viral on social media platforms.
PS 1 is a fictional epic period action film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan.
The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography handled by Ravi Varman, editing done by A. Sreekar Prasad and production design by Thota Tharani.
