Chiranjeevi Slams ‘False Claims’ Linking Him to TFI Wage Hike Talks

A major row has erupted in Tollywood amid the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation strike, which has stalled film shoots across the state. The Federation is demanding a 30% salary hike, and while the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce continues negotiations, no settlement has been reached yet.

Fueling the drama, several media reports earlier today claimed that Megastar Chiranjeevi, one of the most influential voices in the industry, had personally met Federation leaders and promised to persuade producers to accept their demand.

The reports quickly sparked unease among several producers, many of whom are strongly opposed to such a steep pay hike.

In a swift response, Chiranjeevi issued an official statement denying any involvement in the matter. He made it clear that he neither met any Federation representatives nor intended to intervene in the ongoing talks, stressing that the issue falls solely under the jurisdiction of the Film Chamber.

Chiranjeevi’s statement read:

“Some people claiming to be members of the Film Federation have gone to the media and made false statements that I met them and accepted their demands for a 30% pay hike.

I want to make it clear that I have not met anyone from the Federation. This is an industry-wide matter, and no individual, including myself, can unilaterally guarantee or resolve such issues.

The Film Chamber is the apex body of the Telugu film industry, and it is the Chamber’s collective responsibility to negotiate with all sections and arrive at a fair solution. I strongly condemn such baseless statements made with the intention of creating confusion.”
