‘Chinni’ Trailer: Keerthy Suresh shocks as a serial killer

Don’t go by the title. ‘Chinni’ may sound like it is the story of a tender woman who considers violence and gore delicate topics. This Telugu-Tamil film, to be released on Amazon Prime on May 6, is about unapologetic serial killings.

Starring Keerthy Suresh in the titular role and set in Andhra, the film has Selvaraghavan as the female protagonist’s relative from her husband’s side. The ‘Mahanati’ actress plays a small-time constable who takes to the path of violence. Selva is full of rage as he commits a series of murders. A gas delivery agent by the day, he is an underdog on a rampage by the night.

Dhilip Subbarayan’s stunts have a challenge – to make the serial killings look unique and also offer jump scares if possible. The trailer has been cut to give a glimpse into the numb mindsets of the two main characters. More than a range of scenes, we are offered investigation moments.

The Arun Matheswaran directorial is produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Sam CS has composed the music, while Yamini Yagnamurthy has handled the camera work. The trailer, at more than 3 minutes, doesn’t throw any hints about Nagooran’s editing style.
