Now, the latest update is that Raina has been bestowed with an honorary doctorate from the prestigious Vels University in Chennai. On August 5, he received the doctorate and shared pictures of the same on his Twitter page. The cricketer is a very close friend to Thala MS Dhoni and always considers Chennai as his second home over the love he has for the CSK franchise.
Sharing the photos, Suresh Raina captioned, "I am humbled to receive this honour from the outstanding institution VELS Institute of Science & technology & Advanced Studies @VelsVistas @IshariKGanesh Sir. I am moved by all the love & thank you from the bottom of my heart. Chennai is home & it has a special place for me" (sic). The images are now going viral.
