A woman from Chennai's Puzhal area, aided by her nephew, killed her husband after he suspected an affair between the two of them.

The victim, identified as Suresh, married Anusuya after meeting at her at a wedding and falling in love with her many years ago. They have a 4-year-old son named Lokesh. Anusuya initially called the police and informed them that her husband had died after consuming a copious amount of alcohol. However, after the police noticed reddish marks around Suresh's neck, they interrogated Anusuya further, when she finally revealed that she had killed him. Anusuya stated that she was close to her nephew, and her possessive husband did not like that and that he would harass her every day after coming home drunk. Tired of his constant nagging, she added a few sedatives to her dosa batter and served him dosas, following which he fell asleep. And then her nephew strangled him with a duppatta, which ended up leaving marks on his neck.

Anusuya and her nephew have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody, while the further probe is on.
