‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ gives Mani Ratnam his biggest opening

The mega multistarrer from Mani Ratnam ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ has given the legendary director his biggest opening in his career collecting 26 Crores rupees at the Tamil Nadu box office over the four day weekend.  The worldwide gross now stands approximatedly at rupees 55 Crores .

Chennai city contributed Rs. 3.78 Cr, Chengalput – 8.6 Cr., Coimbatore - 4.3 Cr., Tuticorin – Kanyakumar - 0.93Cr and the rest from the remaining territories. ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ an A.R. Rahman musical is powered by the ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Arvind Swamy, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, Mansoor Ali Khan and Thiagarajan.
