India has successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3, the lunar space exploration mission. Indian Space Research Organisation launched the Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Chandrayaan-3 is equipped with a lander, a rover and a propulsion module.
The Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO’s) third lunar exploration mission is set to launch in less than two hours. Chandrayaan-3 has its voyage towards the Moon at 2:35 pm IST today, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) will help the Chandrayaan-3 mission by providing ground station support from various ground stations across the world. ESA will support the mission through the ESOC mission control centre in Germany, and the Kourou ground station in French Guiana, and NASA will support the mission through the NASA Deep Space Network. ISRO’s 32-metre deep space antenna and the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) will monitor the mission. The Goonhilly Earth Station in the United Kingdom will also support Chandrayaan-3.
Uttar Pradesh Police have conveyed their best wishes for the success of Chandrayaan-3. They said in a tweet Friday that precise timing and correct trajectory leave no ‘space’ for mishaps. Chandrayaan-3 is slated to launch in less than four hours.
