It was on this day in 2014 that director Pa Ranjith, after his debut success Attakathi returned with his second movie Madras, starring Karthi, Kalaiyarasan, Catherine Tresa and Riythvika in lead roles.
The movie which presented the lives of North Chennai people, the politics, friendship and betrayal in the backdrop of a wall as a conflict point became a superhit, and one of the biggest hits in Karthi’s career.
On eve of the 6th anniversary of Madras release, Catherine Tresa who debuted in Tamil with the movie, got nostalgic and has thanked fans with her latest tweet that read “I couldn’t have asked for a better film and character to debut with than Madras and Kalaiarasi. Thank you all so very much for all the love you have shown our film and me. Indebted to you and will always strive to enteirtain you better. All my ❤️. #6yearsofMadras”.
