Udhayanidhi Stalin has already had two released as an actor this year with 'Gethu' releasing for Pongal and 'Manithan' releasing in April. Strengthened by the commercial success and critical acclaimed received by Manithan, the actor-producer is on a signing spree.

Udhay will start shooting for director Ezhil's film later this month. He has also committed himself for a project with director Guarav Narayanan of 'Sigaram Thodu' fame. Apart from these he will also be doing a film with debutant Thalapathy, a former assistant of director Ponram.

This will be a rural comedy like Ponram's 'Varuthapadadha Valibar Sangam' and 'Rajini Murugan'. The makers have confirmed that Catherine Tresa has been almost confirmed to play the female lead in this flick as she is seen as the right choice to play a rural belle. The 'Madras' actress is yet to sign the film on dotted lines.

The yet to be titled film of Udhayanidhi with Thalapathy is expected to go on floors in September. This will be Catherine's fourth direct film in Tamil, after 'Madras' with Karthi, 'Kathakali' with Vishal and 'Kanithan' with Atharvaa
