'Sooryavanshi', the Hindi-language action film, stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment, among others, it hit the screens today worldwide.

Going by early trade reports, the action entertainer is in for massive openings. This is the first major Hindi film to release directly in theatres during the pandemic. The talk is that the entertainer is a 'paisa vasool' outing.

"Akshay Kumar's Veer Sooryavanshi is a worthy addition to Rohit Shetty's cop universe," a national daily said in its review. "'Sooryavanshi' is a BLOCKBUSTER OF EPIC PROPORTIONS. If you feel I am wrong just go and witness yourself in cinemas Rohit Shetty is a commercial hit machine. He has made a film that is not only entertaining but emotional as well as engaging GO WATCH WITH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY (sic)," tweeted Ashish Chanchlani.

Blue-tick Twitter handles are going gaga over the movie. "'Sooryavanshi' is an excellent entertainer with a classy first half and a massy second half. The Akshay Kumar -starrer brings in the BEST of 'Baby' and 'Holiday', with Rohit Shetty sprinkling the cop elements of 'Singham' and 'Simmba'. A FANTASTIC ENTERTAINER (sic)," Tuteja tweeted.
