But NTR never called me back: Dil Raju

‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ was supposed to be made with NTR as the hero.  For good or bad, it never happened.

“Satish was excited about casting NTR.  I too said OK.  Very next day, the director appeared in front of me with a design in his mobile phone (laughs).  I was excited upon seeing it and went to Tarak with the story.  He told me the story is good and asked me to give him some time before he can come back to me.  But after we were back, we had second thoughts.

Will the story work for a star hero?  Will his set image not be a problem?  These were the questions we asked ourselves.  With these questions in mind, I didn’t go back to Tarak again.  I wanted to see if he will contact me again regarding the project.  He never did so. We then wanted to make it with Ram Charan as the hero.  Nithiin was our next option. Once Nithiin liked it and gave the nod, we started the project with him,” Dil Raju revealed recently.

“After the release of ‘Shatamanam Bhavati’, Satish Vegesna was flooded with offers.  A producer offered him an advance of Rs. 1 Cr.  But I told Satish to tread cautiously and decided it for himself if he wants money or wants to make a good film.  I told him to be cool about his next movie,” the ace producer said.
