Director dies during recce

Young Sandalwood director Santosh Shetty Kateel yesterday met with a tragic fate.  He died while doing a recce at Ermayi Falls in Ujire, Belthangady.  He was there with a team of four to find out if the location is apt for his upcoming film, whose shooting is almost done.

Sporting a designer costume that resembled a robot’s, Santosh proceeded towards a fatal area despite a stern warning by a local person.  The talented youngster, whose debut was a critically-acclaimed children’s film,  didn’t listen to the warning at his own risk.  He is believed to have slipped and drowned in no time, shocking his fellow companions.

A case has been slapped against his companions under IPC Section 304 (a).  The police are investigating the death.
