The Hind-language musical drama, ‘Gully Boy’, has been finalized to be India’s official entry for the Oscars. Twenty-seven other films, including the Telugu flick ‘Dear Comrade’, were considered. Only one film can be sent from India by the Film Federation of India.
“#GullyBoy has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Oscar Awards. #apnatimeaayega. Thank you to the film federation and congratulations,” said Farhan Akhtar, the brother of the film’s director, Zoya Akhtar.
Starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the film became a blockbuster at the box-office when it released in February.
