‘Brahmastra’: Nagarjuna as Anish Shetty

‘Brahmastra’, one of the most ambitious Bollywood films in the making, stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The epic, which will hit the screens in five languages (including Telugu) on September 9 this year, is a supernatural fantasy thriller. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film’s trailer will be out on June 15.

The news is that Akkineni Nagarjuna is playing a mystical wielder of the Nandi Astra in the VFX-heavy movie. Anish Shetty is his name in all languages (Hindi and all four major South Indian languages). Calling the world of Brahmastra one of wonder and power, Nag wrote, “I am proud to be a part of that wonder and hold its power in my hand with the might of the NANDI ASTRA! Thank u Ayan for making me a part of your world, passion & your endless energy! (sic),” tweeted Nag. 

Recently, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures today committed to pulling off the movie’s global theatrical release.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna’s Telugu movie ‘The Ghost’ is going to complete its shoot soon. It is directed by Praveen Sattaru. Gul Panag, Anikha Surendran and others are part of the cast.
