Earlier this week, Bollywood actress Richa Chadha took to the streets in Mumbai and started hugging strangers. A video of her has gone viral since then.
What is the rationale? "Set out to share some love because there’s so much hate. Like Martin Luther King said, 'Darkness cannot be driven out by darkness, only light can do that ...'. I hugged strangers and it was MAGIC! You see (the woman) in the red sari, not only hugged me, she kissed me, and then proceeded to KISS MY FRIEND (the reason her mobile shook) who was helping. Made people hug each other too... you see love is contagious! NOW I WANNA DO THIS EVERY YEAR! Maybe next year you can join me. Smile. Spread love!" the actress writes.
Hug Therapy Day is observed every year in the US in memory of Martin Luther King.
Internet users have showered praise on Richa Chadha for her loving gesture. The 33-year-old is a Best Actress Award winner for her role in 'Gangs of Waseypur' in 2012 and is currently starring in 'Shakeela', 'Ghoomketu' and 'Panga'.
