Today the 9th of May is the birthday of the multi talented T.Rajendar, the one of a kind film maker in Indian Cinema. T. R, as he is fondly called has served as an actor, director, screenwriter, cinematographer, music director, lyricist, art director, editor and producer of most of his films of which a majority has been super hits.

During the eighties and a good part of the nineties T.Rajendar enjoyed immense popularity on par with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan especially with the female audiences as his films were family oriented and clean. Even today the filmmaker is very popular among youngsters for his rhythm and his straightforward speeches when he takes up social issues.
